Data protection declaration

1. General information

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website and thank you for your interest in our company. We take the protection of your personal data extremely seriously. When processing your personal data, we adhere to the provisions of the GDPR (EU) and all other applicable data protection regulations. This data protection declaration is intended to provide you with comprehensive information about the processing of your personal data by gotoitcareer GmbH as well as the rights to which you are entitled.

Personal data refers to information that can be used to identify a natural person. In particular, this includes name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address and also your IP address. Anonymous data refers to data that cannot be linked to any individual user.

2. Responsible body

The responsible body for the processing of your personal data is gotoitcareer GmbH, Königsteiner Str. 112, 65812 Bad Soden am Taunus, Germany, email: info@gotoitcareer.com (hereafter referred to as gotoitcareer).

3. Your rights as a data subject

Transparency is very important to us. You have various rights in relation to your personal data under the applicable laws.

These rights are set out in Art. 15 - 22 GDPR. This includes:

  • The right to information (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • The right to deletion (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • The right to correction (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • The right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • The right to have data processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • The right to object to data processing (Art. 21 GDPR).

If you would like to assert these rights or should you have any further questions regarding the processing of your data within our company, please send your enquiry by email or by post to the address given under point 2, ensuring that you provide clear identification of your person. You also have the right to file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the law.

4. Purposes and legal grounds of data processing

When processing your personal data, we adhere to the provisions of the GDPR and all other applicable data protection regulations. Legal grounds for processing data are derived in particular from Art. 6 GDPR.

Once you have registered on our website, we will use your data to create a profile for recruitment purposes, to fulfill contractual and legal obligations and to execute the contractual relationship.

We obtain your consent before we process your personal data. We will also inform you here about the purposes of the data processing and about your right of revocation.

If the consent also extends to the processing of special categories of personal data, we will make you explicitly aware of this in the consent.

The processing of special categories of personal data within the scope of Art. 9 para. 1 of the GDPR is only carried out if this is required by legal provisions and there is no reason to assume that your legitimate interests in the exclusion of the processing outweigh this.

5. Transfer to third parties

We will only disclose your data to third parties within the framework of the legal provisions or with corresponding consent. Other than that, we shall not disclose your personal data to third parties except where we are obliged to do so by mandatory legal provisions (disclosure to external bodies such as supervisory authorities or law enforcement agencies).

6. Recipients of the data / categories of recipients

We make sure within our company that only those persons who require your data for the fulfillment of contractual and legal obligations receive it.

Service providers may sometimes support our specialist departments in fulfilling their tasks. Through legal, technical and organizational measures as well as regular controls, we have ensured that they comply with the provisions of the data protection laws.

7. Transfer to third countries

There is no transfer to third countries.

8. Storage period of the data

We shall store your data for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it is processed. Please note that numerous retention periods require that data continues to be stored (or mandatory obligation). This is particularly the case for retention obligations under commercial or tax law (e.g. Commercial Code, Fiscal Code, etc.). To the extent that there are no further storage obligations, we routinely delete the data once the original purpose has been fulfilled.

Furthermore, we may retain data where you have given us permission to do so or where legal disputes arise and we may use evidence within the scope of statutory limitation periods, which may amount to up to thirty years; the regular limitation period is three years.

9. Secure transfer of your data

We have taken extensive technical and operational security precautions to protect the personal data we store from unauthorized access, accidental or intentional manipulation, loss or destruction. Our security procedures undergo regular review and are adapted to reflect the latest technological advances.

The exchange of data to and from our website is encrypted. We offer HTTPS as the transmission protocol for our website, applying the current encryption protocols in each case.

There is also the possibility of using alternative communication methods (e.g. post).

10. Categories, sources and origin of data

The data we process is determined by the respective context: It depends on whether you are entering and enquiry in our contact form, for example, or whether you are registering as a candidate on our platform.

Please be aware that we may also disclose information separately for special processing situations, e.g. when you register as a candidate.

11.  We collect and process the following data when you visit our website

Your browser transmits the following types of data when you visit this website, which is then stored by us:

  • the browser type and language,
  • the IP address of the accessing computer,
  • the server requests (e.g. page requests) including time, and
  • the referrer URL (i.e. the address of the previously visited website if you came to our website from there by clicking on y hyperlink).

This data cannot be attributed to specific persons and is used for statistical analyses, for the purpose of the operation, security and optimization of our website, and also for the anonymous logging of the number of visitors to our homepage as well as the scope and use of our website and services. The IP address and browser language are also utilized for suggesting the appropriate language setting for our website. This type of data is also stored for a certain period of time in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR for reasons of technical security and in particular to defend against attempted attacks against our web server.

12.  Contact form / contacting us via email or telephone

Insofar as you contact us by email, the data you provide will only be used for the specific purpose for which you have provided us with the data, e.g. for correspondence in connection with your enquiry. The data will not be used for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

Our website also provides a contact form so that you can send us your enquiry directly. The contact form is used to collect the contact details that are necessary for communication (e.g. name, telephone number or email address) and to record the content of your message. This data is used to reply to/fulfill your request. Even in this case, the data will not be used for any other purposes without obtaining your explicit consent.

The principle of data minimization and data avoidance is observed in the use of all communication channels, whereby you only have to provide the data that is absolutely necessary for us to contact you and process your particular enquiry.

Furthermore, your IP address will be processed for the sake of technical security and to avert any attempted attacks.

13.  Registration as a candidate

Many thanks for your interest in our recruiting and assessment model. The protection of personal data is something we take very seriously. The personal data you provide during the registration process is used to ensure the effective and correct processing of the registration procedure (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, b GDPR).

You will be asked to provide personal information as part of the registration process. We regret to inform you that we cannot complete your registration without this information. Your IP address is also processed due to technical necessity and for legal protection.

We require your consent for this, which you can give us by clicking the checkbox in the registration process. You can of course withdraw your consent at any time without giving any reason with effect for the future by sending an email to: info@gotoitcareer.com. You can find further information in the data protection declaration as part of the registration process for candidates. Please note that when you withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted from our portal and you will no longer be able to use our services.

We have implemented appropriate security measures to protect the safety and confidentiality of your data.

We will store your data for as long as it is required for you to be successfully transferred to an employer's onboarding process or until you withdraw your consent or delete your profile.

Registration on our website also leads to the storage of the user´s IP address, the date as well as the time of registration (technical background data). Clicking the "Apply now" button completes the creation of your candidate profile.

Upon completion of the registration process, we will store your data for use in the protected candidate area.

You can of course cancel or delete your registration or candidate account, or even request the data stored about you.

14. Registration as a company

We have made it our mission to provide companies with strategic and sustainable support in the search, selection and qualification of suitable personnel amidst the shortage of skilled workers in IT.

We present suitable candidates, including documents, videos and assessment results, through our own portal to potential employers.

Once the contractual foundation between gotoitcareer and the relevant company has been established, we will provide our Recruitment and Assessment Portal for use.

In this case, the partner company is invited by the gotoitcareer team via an admin interface. The partner company can then register itself with name, email and password as well as invite other colleagues.

You will be asked to provide personal information as part of the registration process [SK1] [CM2] [SK3]. We regret to inform you that we cannot complete your registration without this information. Your IP address is also processed due to technical necessity and for legal protection.

We require your consent for this, which you can give us by clicking the checkbook in the registration process. You can of course withdraw your consent at any time without giving any reason with effect for the future by sending an email to: info@gotoitcareer.com. Further information can be found in the data protection declaration as part of the registration process for companies. Please note that when you withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted from our portal and you will no longer be able to use our services.

Registration is necessary for fulfilling a contract with you, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, b GDPR.

Registration on our website also leads to the storage of the user´s IP address, the date as well as the time of registration (technical background data). Clicking the "Apply now" button completes the creation of your company account.

We store your password in encrypted form. Employees of our company cannot access this password. This means that they cannot provide you with any information if you have forgotten your password.

In such cases, please use the "Forgotten password" function, which sends you an automatically generated new password by email. No employee has the right to ask you for your password by telephone or in writing. We therefore ask you never to disclose your password if you receive such a request.

Your data is stored with us for the use of the protected company area upon completion of the registration process. As soon as you log on to our website using your email address as your user name and your password, this data is then made available for actions you perform on our website.

You can, of course, cancel or terminate the registration or your company account. Please also note that access and use of this portal is no longer possible after expiry of the individual contract.

15.  Social media

No social plugins are active on our website.

16.  Presence in our social media

We are active on various social media platforms so that we can communicate with the interested parties and users registered there and inform them about our services.

You are responsible for using these platforms and their functions. This is especially true in connection with the use of interactive functions (e.g. commenting, sharing, rating). Furthermore, your data might be processed outside the European Union in this regard.

User profiles may also be created on the basis of your user behavior and the resulting interests, for example, making it possible to process this data for market research and advertising purposes. It is also possible, for example, to place advertisements within and outside the platform that are presumed to be of interest to you.

We, as the provider of this information service, neither collect nor process any other data from your use of our service.

We process the personal data of users based on our legitimate interests in providing users with effective information and communicating with them pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f. GDPR. If you are asked by the respective provider to consent to data processing (i.e. to give your approval, e.g. by ticking a checkbox or pressing a button), then the legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a, Art. 7 GDPR.
